Heather Patterson

Legal Intern

Heather Patterson is a 2L at Berkeley Law (Boalt Hall) and a 2010 boalt.org summer public interest fellow. A cognitive neuroscientist by training, she’s particularly interested in how information is acquired, represented, and transmitted – neurally, cognitively, and socially. Nowadays, she likes thinking about the relationship between privacy and free speech, copyright and fair use, and about how to maintain our traditional civil liberties in the face of rapid advancements in science and technology. She confesses weaknesses for cold-brewed coffee with chicory, kayaking, and Oaxacan folk art, and she thinks that California would be even better with fireflies.
