January 31, 2014 - 4:30pm PST

This Friday, January 31, hundreds of groups and thousands of individuals across North America are planning protests against the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). While the opponents of TPP may not all be concerned about the same issues, we can agree on one thing: trade agreements must be fair and transparent, especially if they attempt bind our lawmakers to new international regulatory obligations.

EFF Global Policy Analyst, Maira Sutton, will speak at the rally in San Francisco on TPP's threat to the Internet and users' rights. If you're in the area, come by, bring a sign, and tell others about why you're against TPP. The protest begins at 4:30 PM in front of the Federal Building (which houses Rep. Nancy Pelosi's office), then we will march down Market Street to Sen. Dianne Feinstein's office at 1 Post Street. For more information, this is the Facebook page for the event.

Live outside the Bay Area? Check out this map to see if there's a protest organized near you. Start times will vary by location.
