February 11, 2018 - 2:00pm PST
Chicago, IL

Two local organizations in the Electronic Frontier Alliance (not EFF) will host this event:

Join the Chicago Committee to Defend the Bill of Rights and Lucy Parsons Labs for an informational and training session on the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), a law that forces certain government institutions to release information when requested by the public. They have used FOIA extensively to shed light on the inner workings of government agencies, and so can you.

FOIA-enthusiast Matt Chapman will give a brief introductory presentation on FOIA followed immediately by a hands-on workshop where attendees will be invited to file their first FOIA requests during the workshop.
