The Boot Camp will offer practical strategies for requesting government records through Freedom of Information laws, with a focus on the federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Connecticut’s Freedom of Information (FOI) law.  

David Sobel, Senior Counsel at the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and First Amendment Center FOIA Hall-of-Famer, will discuss federal FOIA law. 

Lisa Fein Siegel, Staff Attorney for the Connecticut Freedom of Information Commission (FOIC), will cover Connecticut's unique system.
