April 11, 2023 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm PDT
Austin, TX

EFF-Austin, a local organization in the Electronic Frontier Alliance, (not EFF) will host this event:

Everything You Need To Know About Passwords

From the Organizers:

Our speaker this month, Nate Bartram, will lead us in EFF-Austin's very first CryptoParty. Specifically, he will be guiding us in a discussion around password security. Covered topics will include what makes a strong password, why strong passwords are important for your privacy and security in digital spaces, recommendations on password managers, and help in making the jump to using password managers to insure that you have strong, unique passwords for each account you use. Bring your own laptop if you have one, as after his presentation Nate will assist attendees in getting started on their safe password journey, although no worries if you just have a phone or prefer that, there is plenty about setting up and managing your passwords on a phone that Nate can teach you as well.
