The 2019 Computers, Privacy and Data Protection conference (CPDP) will be held in Brussels from January 30-February 1. On Wednesday January 30, Katitza Rodriguez, EFF's International Rights Director, will be speaking at the European Parliament's Privacy Platform from 1 - 2.15 pm as part of the the CPDP events. Katitza will be speaking about the upcoming negotiations between the US and EU on an international agreement on access to electronic evidence, to fall within the framework of the CLOUD Act. On Thursday, January 31, Katitza from EFF and EDRi are organizing a panel called Avoiding a race to the bottom: bridging the gap between national legislation and human rights law. CPDP gathers academics, lawyers, policymakers, and civil society from all over the world, offering them an arena to exchange ideas and discuss the latest emerging issues and trends. This unique multidisciplinary format has served to make CPDP one of the leading data protection and privacy conferences in Europe and around the world.
