Ben Reitman Historical Event

October 24, 2013 - 6:00pm
Chicago, IL

The Jane Addams Hull House Museum is hosting an evening celebrating the life and work of Dr. Ben Reitman. Dr. Ben Reitman (1879–1943) was an American anarchist and physician to the poor who was also a steadfast free speech advocate. Rainey Reitman, now activism director at EFF and the great granddaughter of Dr. Reitman, continues this legacy of advocating for free speech through her own work. She'll discuss how the battle for free expression has moved into the digital world, and how she engages in activism to defend free speech online.
