This morning, New Jersey Representative (and HR 550 author) Rush Holt headlined a bipartisan press conference alongside prominent House members from both parties. Joining Holt onstage were Republican members Greg Walden (OR) and Frank Wolf (VA) as well as Democratic member Tom Petri (WI).

Rep. Holt noted the deep cynicism that has developed among the nation's voters in recent years, and, wryly, acknowledged that pressure from e-voting reform activists has been instrumental in getting HR 550 introduced and picking up support. "That's how the process is supposed to work," said Holt, who stated that voting integrity should not be and is not a partisan issue. Representatives Walden, Wolf, and Petri strongly echoed the sentiment.
