Celebrating Sunshine Week

This week is Sunshine Week!

sunshineweek.jpg

Sunshine Week is an initiative of the American Society of Newspaper Editors (ASNE) to raise awareness about the critical importance of public access to government records. This week, EFF joins ASNE and the dozens of other organizations celebrating Sunshine Week in support of the laws that guarantee the public's right to know. This includes the OPEN Government Act, a bill introduced by Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Pat Leahy (D-VT) to reform the Freedom of Information Act to make it easier for journalists of all stripes to access government documents -- including online journalists and freelancers.
