Call Power, a part of EFF's action center, uses a third-party service provider called Twilio to call and connect you with lawmakers.
Twilio collects and stores the following information on behalf of EFF:
- Your phone number
- Your location
- Time of the call
- The campaign type (state, national)
- The targets of this campaign
- The name of this campaign
- Twilio may collect additional information from your web browser, such as your user-agent string
Note that Twilio does not have access to your IP address.
EFF uses the information collected by Twilio in accordance with our privacy policy. However, at this time we are unable to delete it from Twilio's system. We're working with Twilio to resolve this issue and bring Twilio's data retention policies in line with our own. Note that Twilio may get independent requests from law enforcement for the information it stores about you. Twilio has promised to pass those requests on to EFF, rather than respond directly, whenever they are permitted to do so by law. As we state in our privacy policy, we will independently object to requests for access to information about users, including requests referred to us by Twilio, that we believe to be improper.
