This survey is for residents of Oakland, California who have experienced difficulty acquiring service from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) of their choice, due to landlords being non-responsive or only allowing access to the landlords preferred provider. We'll use the results to support an ordinance that would prevent landlords from participating in Pay-to-Play arrangements with Internet Service Providers in the City of Oakland, that deny renters the freedom to choose from all available options.
If you're under 13, please have your parents take this survey instead of filling it out yourself.
Important Note: Information provided here (with the exception of email addresses) will be shared with our coalition partners as well as members and staff of the Oakland City Council. In some cases, such as a member of the City Council sharing the experiences of Oakland residents barred from obtaining service from the ISP of their choice during a City Council hearing, this information could become part of the public record.
