Health Privacy Summit 2012

June 6, 2012 - 8:00am to June 7, 2012 - 2:00pm
Washington, DC

Join EFF Senior Staff Attorney Lee Tien at the 2nd International Summit on the Future of Health Privacy as he discusses technical solutions to health privacy and security problems.  Lee will also be speaking at the issue session titled "How do Social Media, Mobile Devices, Medical Devices and Implants, Online 'Health Websites,' and Clouds Threaten Health Privacy?" that weekend.

This event is the first and only international venue for serious discussions among experts and thought leaders on the urgent privacy issues raised by health technologies and architectures (including mHealth and 'clouds'), law and regulations, data exchange, secondary uses of health data, and social media platforms. The summit will also explore health privacy through the lens of US and international policies about health information privacy, such as the recent Consumer Bill of Privacy Rights and the EU Draft Regulation on the Protection of Individuals with Regard to the Processing of Personal Data and on the Free Movement of Such Data.
