Alison graduated from Stanford with a degree in English and Philosophy, and is ecstatic to have a job where she can write to do good. Prior to joining EFF, she spent summers working at the Humanities, Arts, Science, and Technology Advanced Collaboratory (HASTAC) and the Center for Adolescent Health and the Law (CAHL), where she helped write and edit State Minor Consent Laws: A Summary, 3rd ed., as well as one summer backpacking around Ecuador with only very rudimentary Spanish. She also did some freelance writing on vintage and DIY fashion in San Francisco. Alison is generally pro- reading, chocolate, traveling, baby animals, hiking, Oxford Commas, and EFF and generally anti- mayonnaise, apathy, and DRM.
