Electronic Frontiers Georgia, a local organization in the Electronic Frontier Alliance, (not EFF) will host this event:

EARN-IT Act: An End Run Around Encryption?

From the Organizers:

The EARN-IT Act was revived in 2022 with provisions that could lead to mandated scanning of all Internet content before it is encrypted for transmission, ostensibly to scan for "CSAM", or Child Sexual Abuse Material. We consider whether the bill is truly necessary to achieve the stated goal, and what the threats could be to our privacy and free expression.

Our speaker will be Joe Mullin, Senior Policy Analyst at Electronic Frontier Foundation in San Francisco. Please join us for a very informative evening.
