More great stories from EFF's 15th Anniversary Blog-a-thon yesterday. Two posts nicely capture the past and present of the fight for free speech online.

Chris Phan tells of "the first political action [he] ever took": joining the EFF's Blue Ribbon Free Speech Campaign to fight the Communications Decency Act (CDA). Though the most heinous provisions of the CDA were struck down in 1997, Chris reminds us to "remain ever vigilant" to protect speech online. Indeed, the war on porn endangers legitimate speech still.

Meanwhile, Tux-Hacker draws attention to the way repressive regimes stifle online speech and a newer front for free speech -- bloggers' rights. He also points out the importance of allowing anonymity so that people can "express any views openly" without fear of reprisal. If you're wondering how to blog anonymously, we've published some tips here.
