Voltage Pictures is back, suing Oregonians who shared movies online

Corynne McSherry, director of Intellectual Property at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, said the Oregon lawsuits sound "more appropriate" than earlier, lawsuits that lumped multiple file-sharers together.

"However, I continue to be baffled by the notion that the best way to deal with allegedly infringing activity online is to sue individual infringers," she said in an email. "As we have seen time and time again, the better approach is to provide practical legal alternatives."
