In spite of all the talks of making the Web more secure and less prone to eavesdropping, the vast majority of websites still use the inherently insecure HTTP protocol for their connections. A team led by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and with partners such as Cisco, Mozilla, the University of Michigan, Akamai and Identrust aims to change that, facilitating the adoption of the HTTPS protocol to turn the entire Internet in an encrypted environment.
