S.T.O.P.- a local organization in the Electronic Frontier Alliance, (not EFF) will co-host this event:

Decriminalize, Dismantle, & Erase the Database

From the Organizers:

This summit will bring together advocates to discuss the harms of surveillance and gang policing in New York City and the fight for racial justice and real safety. We will hear from community and youth leaders, legal experts, and impacted New Yorkers from all across the city about the dangerous police tactics that have grown over the past few years, like the expansion of the controversial NYPD gang database, as well as new surveillance weapons.

The summit will include panels, breakout groups, and an open forum with candidates and community members. The goal of the event is to build support for legislation to #EraseTheDatabase, ending violent gang policing tactics, and building community alternatives to violence.
