With government surveillance headlines swirling in the public arena and Americans fiercely divided on the issue of civil liberties and privacy, a panel of experts—including EFF Senior Staff Attorney Jennifer Lynch—will explore the emerging issues associated with the use of domestic drones in law enforcement. As the United States opens its air space to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, drones will become commonplace in the arsenal of policing and homeland security. This panel will address the legal, regulatory and ethical consideration of deploying drones in law enforcement that both protect security while balancing vital interests such as civil liberties, due process, privacy, and innovation.
