Join the Graduates for Engaged and Extended Scholarship in Computing and Engineering (GEESE) for an end-of-semester event, Tech Skepticism and Worker Activism: Drawing Lessons for Research and Education. Reflecting on events and crises in the tech industry over the past year, our discussion will focus on the implications for members of campus, as researchers, teachers, and students. 

Speakers include 
- Meredith Whittaker, co-founder of the AI Now Institute, leader of Google's Open Research Group and the Google Measurement Lab, and co-organizer of the recent Google Walkout and Project Maven protests,
- Matt Caggle, Technology and Civil Liberties Attorney at the ACLU of Northern California, involved in revealing use of Amazon facial recognition software in mass surveillance programs,
- Jeremy Gillula, Tech Projects Director at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, obtained PhD in Robotics and Machine Learning at Stanford and Berkeley EECS.
