EFF Happy Hour
Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 7 PM

What do the NSA, facial recognition devices and the emerging San Diego campaign finance scandal have in common? They’re all subjects that EFF’s Dave Maass can chat with you about over drinks and sushi at the Bamboo Lounge in San Diego on Thursday, Feb. 13th (which is also the anniversary of "Dave Maass Day").

Formerly a staff writer for San Diego CityBeat, Maass joined EFF only months before whistleblower Edward Snowden began releasing documents detailing the shocking extent of the NSA’s operations.  You can hear about what it’s like to be in the eye of the storm, why EFF is so focused on San Diego and how Maass’ early reporting for CityBeat on a shady political committee relates to EFF’s work on state-sponsored surveillance. The no-host bar will also be an opportunity to meet other EFF supporters, local journalists and other like-minded activists.

Find us on the back patio at the Bamboo Lounge in Hillcrest! This is a free gathering for EFF supporters and guests. Space is limited. For more information contact membership@eff.org.
