Aaron’s Law: Why hacking laws need reform
Roundtable
April 20 at 11:00-11:45am pst
Everyone wants an internet where competition and innovation can thrive, and where security is the default, not an optional add on. Sadly, our legal frameworks have become an obstacle to this. Our laws are central to an outdated way of thinking about computers and computer networks. Current legal frameworks have allowed for the misuse of the internet by repressive governments and tech companies, and have caused serious mental health issues among internet users. Let’s discuss how we got here and how to reform the law – and our overall approach to computer crime – to better serve us.
