Rep. Holt Meets With the Press

This morning, Rep. Holt was joined by Chellie Pingree (Common Cause), Joan Krawitz (VoteTrustUSA), and Pam Smith (VerifiedVoting.org), along with dozens of other election reform activists at a Capitol Hill news conference in support of HR 550. The conference was covered by major news outlets such as the Chicago Tribune, the National Journal, and ABC Radio, among others.

"If you leave the polling place scratching your head wondering whether your vote had been counted the way you cast it," said Holt, "you had good reason to wonder, because neither you nor the election officials nor the machine manufacturers nor anyone else can ever know for sure that your vote was recorded the way you intended. That's why we need a voter-verified paper audit trail. That's what we're talking about here today."
