EDUCAUSE, the nonprofit for information technology in higher education, has posted a one hour conversation with Jim Griffin, the head of Choruss (and member of EFF's advisory board), about the major label effort to create a voluntary collective license for music file-sharing on campus.

We continue to think that Choruss is a promising new approach to the decade-old problem of unauthorized music sharing, an approach that EFF has been urging for many years. It certainly represents an improvement from the recording industry's demands for more network surveillance and "3 strikes" punishments for users. The EDUCAUSE presentation presentation gives us some important details regarding this evolving idea.
