SunnComm MediaMax Affected CDs

Sony BMG has now released lists of all the CDs on Sony BMG labels (released in the U.S. and Canada) that include MediaMax copy-protection technology version 5 and version 3.

As of December 2005, Sony BMG has stopped manufacturing MediaMax CDs, but some of these discs may still be in local stores. Most are labeled, but in a variety of ways that can be difficult to spot. EFF has assembled a set of photos and a slideshow that show the various ways these Sony BMG MediaMax CDs can be spotted.

Sony BMG is not the only family of record labels to use MediaMax. SunnComm has released lists of all albums on all labels that use MediaMax 5 or MediaMax 3 technology. In response to an EFF open letter SunnComm has committed to addressing current security problems and working towards preventing future vulnerabilities.
