Thought you all might like a little injection of humour. 

This refers to a hoax perpetrated on us; someone told a BBS newsletter
that we had issued a press release about the illegality of BBS porn, and
that Jesse Helms was starting a legislative witchhunt against such material.
Large segments of the net populace took this seriously.  I'm not so sure
anyone confuses us with LPF though, but whatever.
