From "Abend", _Network World_, April 17, 1995. Yesterday I got a call from one of the user departments: "Our printer's not working." All our printers hang off Lantronix Network print servers so they can be accessed from PCs, Suns, IBM RS/6000s, Vaxen and whatever. I went up to the user department and found that not only is the Lantronix powered off, but the power supply is actually missing. I asked the user, "What happened to the power supply?" The person replied, "Oh, you means that black box?" "Um, yes," I said. And the reply? "We thought it was untidy, so we unplugged it and put it in a cupboard." Sigh. - seen in alt.folklore.computers Friday, we had a tornado drill. We're underneath a parking garage (funny how corporations just love putting the nerds in a basement), and there's a PA announcement repeating itself ad nauseum: "This is a tornado drill. Please move quickly away from any and all windows." Somebody yelled out: "Quick, get to a DOS prompt!" - Amy Ward
